Benefits of using Stonycroft Lavender Oil

Lavender is one of the most popular and versatile of all essential oils. Some of the beneficial properties of the oil are:

Acne - lavender is able to assist in the treatment of acne, by inhibiting the bacteria that cause infection, soothing the skin, and can help reduce scarring.

Fungal infections - lavender oil has anti-fungal properties, and may help in treating fungal infections such as Athlete's foot, and ringworm. Remember that lavender oil is for external use only.

Coughs and colds - lavender oil has many properties that make it helpful when dealing with coughs, colds and sinusitis. Add a couple of drops into a bowl of hot water and use as a steam inhalation. This can help not only relieve symptoms, but also assist with sleeping, further aiding recovery.

Burns - lavender oil has both antiseptic and pain-killing properties, promoting rapid healing and can help prevent scarring.

Calming - soothing and balancing properties of lavender can restore a state of balance to the body and mind. It may help balance people in an unbalanced emotional state, such as depression or those suffering mood fluctuations. A couple of drops of oil mixed into a bath or placed on a pillow can help.

Insect repellant - lavender has been used for centuries to protect clothes and linen from moths and other insects, with the added benefit that it will lightly perfume the material at the same time.
